ECD in process of nalizing Consolidated Plan
The City's Economic & Community Development Department is
working to nalize its Consolidated Plan and this week held a
community meeting to gather public input.
Every ve years, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development requires entitlement jurisdictions to submit a
Consolidated Plan that identi es needs within low-to moderate-

income communities and outlines how the City will address those
needs in order to receive federal funding.
Along with Wednesday's community meeting, a public hearing is
scheduled for April 23 in City Council Chambers at City Hall South,
1501 Truxtun Ave.

New sign of cially marks beginning of Dignity Health
Arena era
A new era has kicked off in Downtown Bakers eld thanks to a
partnership between the City and Dignity Health.
On Wednesday, Mayor Karen Goh, Councilmember Andrae
Gonzales, City Manager Christian Clegg and representatives from
Dignity Health of cially unveiled new signage identifying Dignity
Health Arena, Theater & Convention Center.
In February, the Bakers eld City Council approved a 10-year naming
rights agreement with Dignity Health.
"What this really re ects is an alignment to the partnerships we've
had over a long timeframe and really makes it more evident and
more apparent the incredible collaboration that happens here in
Bakers eld and Kern, the incredible collaboration we've already had

between Dignity and the City and many other partners for many
years," said Clegg. "This just makes that partnership that much
stronger, that collaboration that much more meaningful. And really
the arena, convention center and the theater are one of the agship
locations that represent Bakers eld and Kern to many outside this
area."

Rec. & Parks hosts hundreds for annual Eggstravaganza
at MLK
Hundreds of children kicked off their spring breaks and got an early
start to the Easter holiday thanks to the City's Recreation & Parks

On April 11, Rec. & Parks hosted its annual Eggstravaganza at the Dr.
Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.
Children and their parents took part in an egg hunt, resource fair and
had a variety of games to play.

Community meeting to discuss
temporary comms tower at Polo
Park
The public is invited to a community
meeting on April 29 to discuss the
installation of a temporary mobile public
safety communications tower at Polo
Community Park.
Representatives from the City's
Technology Services Department will be
on hand to discuss the plan and provide
more insight on how the tower will help
improve public safety communications.
The meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. at
Polo Park, 11801 Noriega Road by the
maintenance building, just north of the baseball elds.
