HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 046-02(6)RESOLUTION NO. 0 4 6 ' 0 2~G'~ AMENDMENT NO. 6 TO RESOLUTION NO. 046-02 APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE BLUE AND WHITE COLLAR UNITS AND ADOPTING SALARY SCHEDULE AND RELATED BENEFITS FOR GENERAL SERVICES COORDINATOR WHEREAS, Resolution No. 046-02 sets salaries and related benefits for employees of the Blue and White Collar Units. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that effective immediately following Council action, the Salary Schedule, a part of the Resolution No. 046~02 is hereby amended as follows: 1. Resolution No. 046-02 is hereby amended by adding the following class title in the White Collar Unit: 21510 A General Services Coordinator 16.445 17.262 18.127 19.034 19.981 .......... oO0 .......... ABSTAIN: COUNCILMEMBER ~ ABSENT:COUNCILMEMBER ~ CITY CLERK and EX OFFIClO/~LERK of the Council of the City of Bake~'sfield APPROVED JAN 29 2003 MAYOR of ihe City of Bakersfi~el'd APPROVED as to form: BART THILTGEN ' ~ CITY ATTORNEY of the City of Bakersfield S:\Resolution\Res 046-02 Amend 6.doc CITY OF BAKERSFIELD CLASS SPECIFICATION: 21510 UNIT: WHITE COLLAR EEO4: SERVICE/MAINTENANCE CLASS TITLE: GENERAL SERVICES COORDINATOR CLASS SUMMARY: Under general supervision, coordinates and manages the work request system for the General Services Division; coordinates the anti-graffiti crews involving the removal of graffiti; updates records with existing or future technology such as GIS, handheld computers, wireless systems, etc.; compiles and evaluates data and recommends methods for process improvement and quality control; assists with contract management; and performs other work as required. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: The following typical tasks and responsibilities are representative of this class. They are descriptive, not limiting. Essential Duties: Leads and oversees work and technical support for the division; coordinates division work order system; pfioritizes and dispatches work requests; provides support for division supervisors related to scheduling, process improvement, recordkeeping and reporting; compiles and analyzes data tbr reports; acts as liaison with customers to ensure satisfaction; leads and coordinates the daily activities and operations involved in graffiti removal; makes field inspections for locating graffiti and reviewing work; assists in planning, assigning and reviewing the work of employees; assists in evaluating employee performance; uses related computer applications fbr data input, report writing, etc.; assists with budget preparation; trains employees; attends meetings with the public and other City departments; identifies and resolves problems; coordinates division safety programs; assists with airport operations; and performs special projects. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This class is distinguished from Supervisor I in that the General Services Coordinator is a lead worker while the Supervisor I has full supervisory authority. The position acts as a liaison between thc supervisory position and division personnel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge~ Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the technical areas of maintenance and construction including graffiti Knowledge of common tools, equipment and materials used in maintenance and construction Knowledge of process improvement and quality control Knowledge of related computer applications Knowledge of saf~ working practices Ability to assist in planning, assigning and reviewing the work of staff Ability to lead and oversee staff Ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend effective solutions Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines Ability to develop and implement procedures and work standards Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Ability to train and instruct employees CLASS TITLE: GENERAL SERVICES COORDINATOR 21510 Ability to maintain work and equipment records Ability to communicate clearly, either orally or in writing Ability to respond to a variety of requests for information Training and Experience: Graduation from high school and three years of experience in municipal maintenance or related area; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associate's Degree preferred. Licenses~ Certificates and Special Requirements: Possession of a valid California class "C" driver's license. Physical Conditions or Special Working Conditions: Standard office environment and working conditions. Ability to make field inspections. May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
