A RESOLUTION ADOPTING RENTAL FEES
FOR THE ROOFTOP OF THE 18TH AND EYE
STREET PARKING STRUCTURE.
WHEREAS, Section 3.20.126C. of the Municipal Code authorizes the City Council,
by resolution, to establish a rental fee for the use of the rooftop of the 18th and Eye Street
parking structure; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires, pursuant to that code section, to establish the
rental fee for the one-time use of the rooftop of such parking structure; and
WHEREAS, City Staff has researched the fair market rental value of various
comparable areas; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to establish a rental fee which is a fair market rental
value; and
WHEREAS, the parking structure normally closes at 7:30 p.m. and the garage
management company will need to have employees work after hours to oversee events;
and
WHEREAS, City Staff has researched the cost to the parking structure management
company to accommodate rooftop events.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCil_ OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AS FOLLOWS:
1. The one-time rental fee for the rooftop area of the 18th and Eye Street
parking structure is $150.00.
2. An additional fee of $12.00 per hour for each employee of the garage
management company working outside normal business hours will be charged.
3. The fees described in paragraphs 1 and 2 herein shall be added to the City's
cost recovery ordinance (Bakersfield Municipal Code section 3.70).
