RESOLUTION NO.
A POLICY RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ADOPTING A PROCEDURE FOR
THE ClTY'S BUDGET PROCESS
WHEREAS, at times City Councilmembers request written responses to Council
questions from staff; and
WHEREAS, all Councilmembers may also be interested in the information provided
to another Councilmember;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The City Manager shall provide to the full City Council an overview of the City's
fiscal position and the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
2. Each department head shall present an oral summary to the full Council, of their
department's proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
3. The City Council shall consider the information provided and review the proposed
annual budget as a Council, not later than June 30 of each fiscal year.
4. The Council may refer specific budget issues to the Budget and Finance
Committee as necessary.
