A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES FOR
COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL AND STATE RELOCATION
REQUIREMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield recognizes that, as a direct
result of City-sponsored programs or projects, people, businesses and farms may be
displaced; and
WHEREAS, these programs or projects can be funded with federal funds, non-
federal funds or a combination of the two; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield wants to minimize the
impacts caused by such displacement and ensure that all displaced persons or entities
receive fair, uniform and equitable treatment and are provided the assistance to which they
are entitled under law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
Whenever funds, from any source, are utilized for a City-sponsored program
or project, and persons or entities will be displaced as a result thereof, the
City will comply with all relocation requirements in effect at the time of the
approval of the program or project.
The City adopts the state and federal regulations as its own relocation
guidelines.
The City Manager, or his designee, shall establish any procedures
necessary to comply with state and federal relocation law.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.
