A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ON THE 24TH DAY OF JUNE, 1997,
FOR MEASURE "A", ANNEXATION NO. 1212, DENNEN NO. 1
ANNEXATION, AND TERMINATING PROCEEDINGS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
does hereby find, determine and declare as follows:
1. That pursuant to applicable law, a Special Municipal Election was held in the
City of Bakersfield on the 24th day of June, 1997, for the purpose of determining whether
territory designated as Annexation No. 1212 (Dennen No. 1) be annexed into the City of
Bakersfield; and
2. Said election was held and conducted in conformity with all applicable
provisions of law; and
3. Pursuant to direction of the City Council, the City Clerk of the City of
Bakersfield has conducted a Canvass of Results and has filed with said City Council a
certificate relating thereto which has been examined and is hereby accepted by this City
Council; and
4. The City Council does hereby accept the Canvass of Results of said election
as certified by said City Clerk and declare the results of said Special Municipal Election as
follows:
MEASURE"A
"Shall the Order adopted on March 26, 1997, by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield, ordering the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory
described in the Order and designated as City of
Bakersfield Annexation No. 390 (Dennen No. 1)
be confirmed?"

5. That the Clerks Certificate of Canvass relating to said Special Municipal
Election is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and does hereby resolve, determine and declare
the results of said Special Municipal Election and by this reference incorporated herein.
6. The City Council does hereby find, determine and declare that the majority
of the votes cast is against the annexation of said Dennen No. 1, Annexation No. 1212,
and, therefore, said proceedings for annexation are hereby terminated.
7. The City Council further finds that a certified copy of this resolution shall be
filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on JUL ! 6 1~.q7
