NOTICE OF RIGHT TO APPEAL
Any person may appeal a decision of the Board of Zoning Adjustment. The appeal must be filed in
writing within 10 days from date of the Board's hearing with the City Council, c/o City Clerk; 1501
Truxtun Avenue; Bakersfield, CA 93301. Appellants, except those within the public notice area,
must include a $334 non-refundable filing fee with the appeal. If all appeals are withdrawn before
the City Council's meeting, they will not hear the item and the Board's decision will become final.
The City will not issue any permit, license or other approval for a use involved in an application
until after the appeal period has closed. If the City Clerk does not receive an appeal within the 10-
day period, the Board's decision will become final.

FILE NO. 03-0486 - ANTHONY JOHNSON has requested a
Modification to allow a reduction in required rear yard setback from
an R-S (Residential Suburban) zone district from 50 feet (required)
to 25 feet (proposed) along the west property line. The applicant
intends to construct a single family dwelling on the property which
is zoned R-1 (One Family Dwelling) located at 4410 Waterfall
Canyon Drive.

FILE NO. 03-0503 - SITE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, INC.
requested a Modification to allow decomposed granite rock
surfacing in place of asphalt concrete surfacing at a proposed
recreational vehicle storage site. The site is zoned M-1 (Light
Manufacturing Zone) located at 1920 Golden State Avenue.

FILE NO. 03-0512 - TED COUGHLIN has requested a
Modification to allow a reduction in the required front yard setback
from 25 feet (required) to 0 feet (proposed) and to allow a 6 foot
high fence where a 4 foot high fence is the maximum permitted
height within the front yard in an R-1 (One-Family Dwelling Zone)
and an R-1 HD (One -Family Dwelling Zone - Hillside
Development Combining Zone). The property owner, California
Water Service Co., plans improvements to an existing water
well/tank site in support of the area water system located at 14206
Raphael Avenue.
