A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT A SKATE PARK
MAY BE CONSTRUCTED AT BEACH PARK IN
BAKERSFIELD THROUGH THE USE OF A DESIGN/BUILD
CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Bakersfield has determined that it would
be within the best interests of the community to construct a skate park; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the best location for said skate park is
Beach Park in Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Bakersfield has determined that the
skate park must be completed before January 2000; and
WHEREAS, the use of a design/build methodology is the most expedient way to
complete the skate park in the desired time frame; and
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Bakersfield believes the public, and the
process of procuring construction services for a skate park, can be adequately protected
through the use of a fair and open competitive process for awarding a design/build
contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, incorporating the above recitals herein,
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The Council hereby finds that it is in the best interests of the City of
Bakersfield that a skate park be constructed at Beach Park in Bakersfield; and
2. The Council hereby finds that it is in the best interests of the City of
Bakersfield that said skate park be constructed pursuant to a design/build contract.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
