A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING THE REQUISITE CITY
PERSONNEL TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS
REQUIRED TO ACCESS JOBS HOUSING BALANCE
INCENTIVE GRANT PROGRAM (JHBP) FUNDS FROM
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, on January 24, 2003, the City of Bakersfield ("City") received a
Notice of Funding Availability for a Jobs Housing Balance incentive Grant (JHB) from
the State of California's Department of Housing and Community Development ("the
Department"); and
WHEREAS, the JHB Grant funds are made available pursuant to the Emergency
Shelter Trust Fund of 2002 (Proposition 46); and
WHEREAS, the City applied for and received authorization for a JHB Grant of
three hundred fourteen, eight hundred twenty-two dollars ($314,822.00) to help
construct the children's playground at Rio Vista Park; and
WHEREAS, to access the funds, the City must execute several documents with
the Department, including, but not limited to, a standard agreement ("the Contract"); and
WHEREAS, the Contract will specify, among other things, the uses of the Grant
funds and the time frame during which the Grant funds must be used.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, incorporating the above recitals herein,
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
That the participation of the City of Bakersfield in the Jobs Housing
Balance Incentive Grant Program (JHB) is hereby authorized; and
That the mayor or designee, the city attorney or designee, the economic
development director or designee and the finance director or designee of
the City of Bakersfield are authorized to execute any and all documents
required by the State of California's Department of Housing and
Community Development to enable the City to access the Jobs Housing
Balance Incentive Grant Program funds referred to herein.
The City of Bakersfield will abide by all terms of the Contract, the
application and Notice of Funding Availability for the JHB Grant funds,
including, but not limited to, the use of the Grant funds and the time frame
for expenditure thereof.
