A RESOLUTION ADOPTING SOLID WASTE FEES
PURSUANT TO THE REVENUE/COST COMPARISON
SYSTEM UNDER CHAPTER 3.70 OF THE BAKERSFIELD

WHEREAS, Chapter 3.70 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code authorizes the
establishment and increase of service charges under the revenue/cost comparison system;
and
WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council was advertised twice
in the Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of general circulation, and held on June 12,
1996; and
WHEREAS, adoption of new and increased solid waste fees pursuant to

incorporated by reference as though fully set forth herein, do not exceed the reasonable
estimated cost of providing the services for which the fees are charged.

51334 of the Government Code of the State of California permit the City Council to provide
for the collection of such charges by the County Tax Collector; and
WHEREAS, Section 8.32.060 B. of the Bakersfield Municipal Code requires
that such refuse charges be submitted to the Kern County Auditor-Controller and Tax
Collector for placement of such charges as assessments on the secured roll of the County
to be collected in the same manner as ad valorem property taxes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct.
