A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLLECTION
OF ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX
COLLECTOR FOR ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has
adopted Resolutions 111-95, 181-95, 33-96 and 54-96 confirming the
reports of the Building Director regarding assessments of certain
properties in the City of Bakersfield for abatement of public
nuisances; and
WHE~AS, Municipal Code Chapter 8.80 requires that in the
event such charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as
listed in Exhibit "A" of the declaration of Gilbert Rojas,
Assistant Finance Director, attached hereto, are not paid in full
by June 30, 1996, the Assistant Finance Director shall cause the
amount of said assessments remaining unpaid against the property to
be entered and extended on the property tax roll, and pursuant to
law, the County Tax Collector shall include the tax bill applicable
to the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield:
1. The above recitals are found to be true and correct.
2. The charges assessed and confirmed against the
properties as contained in the declaration of Gilbert Rojas,
Assistant Finance Director, attached hereto and made a part hereof
by this reference, have not been paid as of June 30, 1996.
3. The Tax Collector of the County of Kern, and such
other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized to
place the above-mentioned assessments on the 1996-97 secured roll
of the County and collect such assessments in the same manner as ad
valorem property taxes.
4. The City Clerk shall transmit said assessments to
the Assistant Finance Director with instructions to submit same to
the Kern County Auditor-Controller and Tax Collector.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular

1, Gilbert Rojas, declare:
l. I am the duly appointed Assistant Finance Director of the City of Bakersfield,
California. I am making this declaration pursuant to Chapter 8.80 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
2. Pursuant to Resolution No's. I 11-95, 181-95, 33-96 and 54-96 passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, the assessments for certain properties in the City of
Bakersfield attached hereto as Exhibit "A" for abatement of public nuisances have been confirmed.
3. The charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as listed in Exhibits "A"
have not been paid as of June 30, 1996.
4. The foregoing matters are within my personal knowledge and, if called as a witness
herein, 1 could and would competently testi~ thereto.
5. I declare, under penalty of perjury, under the laws of the State of California, that the
foregoing is true and correct.
