Patriots Park.

& Sons, Inc. ($222 , 850 . 20) for the
construction of expansion of the Green
Waste Recycle Center. (Ward 1)
M. Accept bid from Burbank Kawasaki
($63 , 474 . 84) for eight replacement
motorcycles.
n. Accept bid from Bear Cat Manufacturing
($134 , 061. 43) for a replacement liquid
asphalt distributor (truck with body) .
o. Appropriate $42 , 600 Gas Tax Fund Balance
to the Public Works Capital Improvement
Budget within the Gas Tax Fund for
traffic signal installation on Stockdale
Highway at Jenkins Road. (Ward 4)
p. Appropriate $136, 000 in interest
earnings for the Section 108 HUD Loan.

Motion by DeMond to adopt Items (a) through APPROVED
(q) of the Consent Calendar, with the
exception of Item f. and the deletion of Item

at the northeast corner of 14th and P

McDermott requested Item f. of the
Consent Calendar be referred back to
Public Works Department to bring back at
a later date.

11. DEFERRED BUSINESS ACTION TAKEN
a. Ordinance amending Title 17 of the ORD 3678
Bakersfield Municipal Code and Zoning
Map No. 123-17 by changing the zoning of
7.27 acres, located at the southwest
corner of Gosford Road and District
Boulevard, from Limited Multiple Family
Dwelling to Limited Multiple Family
Dwelling-Church. (ZC 5653) (Ward 4)

b. Ordinance amending Section 8. 32 . 060 of ORD 3679
the Bakersfield Municipal Code relative
to billing collection and payment of
charges for refuse collection. (First
Reading 10/11/95)
Motion by McDermott to adopt Items a. APPROVED
and b. of Deferred Business.
12 . NEW BUSINESS
a. Ordinance amending Section 16.28. 190 of FR
the Bakersfield Municipal Code relating
to design standards (improved access) .
13 . COUNCIL STATEMENTS
DeMond requested Police Sergeant Henry
recommend whether to refer to Budget &
Finance Committee the issue of false alarms
at City Schools.
McDermott requested staff determine the
alternatives/options to completing the road
projects that have been halted due to the
strike and bring back to Council .
McDermott announced the Board of Supervisors
meet yesterday regarding the Stadium and
selected members to meet with the Urban
Development Committee to draft language for a
ballot measure.
Salvaggio requested Development Services
Director Hardisty meet with Dennis Fidler to
expedite the verbal request from Mr. Doody
(6308 Ringwood Street, 836-3103) , regarding
an empty lot that is a fire hazard.

Carson requested a hearing item be placed on
the November 8th agenda regarding race
relations in the community.
Rowles referred to staff a vacant parcel on
Harris Street, behind Marie Callender's and
Taco Fresco, that appears to have a lot of
activity; and requested a brief on the zoning
and any existing building permits under
submission.
Salvaggio requested Public Works Assistant
Xloepper respond to his request on calls from
Pacheco/Hughes area residents regarding the
sewer project that was delayed due to the
strike; and requested copies of Adminis-
trative Reports, correspondence, etc.
City Manager Tandy announced there are still
tickets available tonight for the FOG.
DeMond requested staff inform her of any
streets in her ward that will be scraped and
not completed during the winter months; and
requested the street edges be smoothed.
