A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL
PROPERTYSURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF
THE ClTYAND AUTHOR~ING THEFINANCE
DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATEITS SALE
WHEREAS, in 1971 the City acquired ten (10) acres for park purposes and seven
(7) of the ten (10) acres was subsequently developed into a drainage retention basin; and,
WHEREAS, since that time the City's design standards have changed and we no
longer utilize drainage basins for new park sites; and,
WHEREAS, the remaining property is zoned R-l, comprised of approximately three
(3) acres, and is presently unimproved; and
WHEREAS, on August 15, 1996 the Planning Commission found the sale of this
property to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan pursuant
to Government Code Section 65402.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct and incorporated herein.
Real property located on the east side of Akers Road between Pinewood
Lake Drive and Alum Avenue is hereby declared surplus and the Finance
Director is authorized to negotiate its sale. The real property is more fully
described on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A."

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
