A RESOLUTION DECLARING REAL PROPERTY
SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS OF THE CITY AND
AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO
NEGOTIATE ITS EXCHANGE
WHEREAS, in 1988 the City acquired approximately 5 acres described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto for a drainage retention basin; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of Valley Plaza has requested the City sell its property
described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto to facilitate the construction of a multi-screen
cineplex; and,
WHEREAS, on December 5, 1996, the Planning Commission fotmd the sale of
these properties to be consistent with the Metropolitan Bakersfield 2010 General Plan
pursuant to Government Code Section 65402.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The foregoing findings and recitals are true, correct and incorporated
herein.
Real property located east of Wible Road, west of Castro Lane south of
Valley Plaza is hereby declared surplus and the Finance Director is
authorized to negotiate its sale. The real property is more fully described in
Exhibit "A" attached hereto.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by
the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
