A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD RECOGNIZING THE
THE CALIFORNIA HOT ROD REUNION
WHEREAS, the City continues to desire to enhance its reputation as a place for
conventions, sporting events, and other family entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the California Hot Rod Reunion is presented by the Automobile Club
of Southern California; and
WHEREAS, the California Hot Rod Reunion has for the past several years
brought together visitors, residents and celebrities in the Bakersfield community to enjoy
the many aspects of nostalgia drag racing and other activities associated with the three-
day event; and
WHEREAS, the 12th Annual National Hot Rod Association California Hot Rod
Reunion will be held at Famoso Raceway, in Bakersfield, California from October 3-5,
2003, and will bring hundreds of participants as well as street rods, customs and muscle
cars to the community for a variety of activities, including nostalgia racing, a Reunion
Swap Meet, a reception and a barbeque over the three days; and
WHEREAS, the event is produced by and benefits the Wally Parks National Hot
Rod Association Motorsports Museum.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
that the City welcomes the California Hot Rod Reunion visitors, residents, and
celebrities and recognizes the benefits the California Hot Rod Reunion brings to the
community.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
