RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
FILE AN APPLICATION FOR A FEDERAL GRANT FOR
THE BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield wishes to apply for a grant from the
United States of America, acting through the Federal Aviation Administration ("FAA"),
for a grant to acquire clear zone land for a runway at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport;
and
WHEREAS, the FAA requires that a resolution or similar action be passed
by the governing body of the applicant authorizing the filing of the application; and
WHEREAS, the maximum amount of the grant for the above project is
$1,141,200;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to file an application
for a grant from the FAA for the above described project at the Bakersfield Municipal
Airport, and further authorizes the City Manager to act in connection with the application
and to provide any information as may be required by the FAA.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
FEB 0 8 1~!)5 , by the following vote:
