A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE
PRESERVATION OF CITY LIENHOLD
INTERESTS IN TAX-DEFAULTED
PROPERTIES TO BE SOLD THROUOH PUBLIC
AUCTION BY THE COUNTY OF KERN.
WHEREAS, the County of Kern, Treasurer and Tax Collector,
has notified the City of Bakersfield that it will offer for sale at
public auction to the highest bidder certain properties upon which
the City maintains liens for demolition and/or weed abatement; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section
3695, the City may, before the date of sale, file with the Tax
Collector and the Board of Supervisors certified copies of a
resolution adopted by the City Council objecting to the sale; and
WHEREAS, the City's objection shall preserve the City's
lien interest in the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Bakersfield does
hereby object to the proposed sale of tax-defaulted property by the
County of Kern, Treasurer and Tax Collector.
2. Pursuant to Revenue and Taxation Code section 3695,
the City of Bakersfield does hereby intend to preserve lienhold
interest from the public auction sale of certain tax-defaulted
property on the following:

(c) Parcel No.
(d) Parcel No.
(e) Parcel No.
(f) Parcel No.
(g) Parcel No.

019-043-02-00-5;
018-370-04-01-8;
018-102-09-00-9;

009-392-13-00-9.
and
3. The City Council hereby directs staff to record in
the Office of the County Recorder a true and correct copy of this
Resolution and to forward certified copies of the Resolution to the
Kern County Tax Collector and Board of Supervisors.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
