~4END'rNG RESOLUTION NO. 109-94
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 109-94 REGARDING SALARY SCHEDULES
WHEREAS, the City Council has completed their annual
evaluation of the City Manager and have found his work to be good
and satisfactory; and
WHEREAS, as a contract employee it is not required nor
appropriate that his compensation be tied to certain "steps" as are
employees in the "Civil Service" of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager should be compensated and his salary
increased or decreased based on merit and not on time in service;
and
WHEREAS, because the City Manager is a direct employee of the
City Council and the Chief Executive Officer of the City, it is
necessary and appropriate that the City Council have discretion and
flexibility to determine his pay based upon his achievements as
City Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
does hereby resolve as follows:
1. The above recitations constitute the findings and of the
City Council.
2. Resolution No. 109 94 is hereby amended to delete the
reference to City Manager in Section 3, "Salary schedule" and to
delete the reference to CLS 930 D City Manager on page 4 of
Schedule A.
3. Except as amended herein, all other provisions of
Resolution 109 - 94 shall remain in full force and effect.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that 'the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
