RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE
BUILDING DIRECTOR REGARDING ASSESSMENTS OF
CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
FOR SECURING AND MAINTAINING DANGEROUS
BUILDINGS AGAINST ENTRY.
WHEREAS, the properties in the City of Bakersfield described by assessor
parcel number and street address in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated by this
reference herein, were determined to be dangerous buildings under the Uniform Code for
the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1991 Edition (Uniform Code); and
WHEREAS, notices and orders of the City of Bakersfield Building
Department, as provided in Uniform Code, were mailed to the record owners of the
aforementioned properties; and
WHEREAS, the properties in question were duly posted as provided in
Uniform Code; and
WHEREAS, this assessment proceeding was duly noticed and a public hearing
held on May 3, 1995, in the Council Chambers of the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield:
1. The cost of securing properties against entry as described in Exhibit
"A"~ attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference, are hereby made a special
assessment against said properties.
2. That the Report and Assessment List for securing and maintaining
against entry dangerous buildings of Dennis C. Fidlet, Building Director, attached hereto
as Exhibit "A", including the assessments therein set forth, is hereby confirmed.
3. That the property owners named in said Exhibit "A" may pay, or cause
to be paid, the charges stated therein at the office of the Finance Department, 1501 Truxtun
Avenue, Bakersfield, California, at any time before 5:00 p.m., June 30, 1995.
3. That in the event such charges assessed and confirmed against the
property as listed in Exhibit "A" are not paid in full within such time, such assessment or
balance due remaining thereof, shall be recorded on the assessment roll, and said
assessment shall constitute a special assessment against and a lien upon the property. The
City Finance Director shall cause the amount of said assessments remaining unpaid against
the property to be entered and extended on the property tax roll, and pursuant to law, the
County tax collector shall include the tax bill applicable to the property.

In the matter of 601 Monterey Street,
32 Kincaid Street and 1909 Maple Avenue
I, Dennis C. Fidler, declare:
1. I am the duly appointed building director of the City of Bakersfield,
California. I am making this declaration pursuant to Section 901 of the Uniform Code for
the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings (Uniform Code).
2. As provided by Chapter 7 of the Uniform Code and pursuant to my order as
Building Director, the abatement of the dangerous buildings listed in Exhibit "A" was
undertaken on April 1, 1995.
3. Records of the Bakersfield Building Department reflect that on April 21, 1995,
Inspector Bill Harrelson posted a Notice of Filing Report and Assessment List for Securing
and Maintaining Against Entry Dangerous Buildings at 601 Monterey Street, 32 Kineaid
Street, 1909 Maple Avenue and mailed same by certified mail, return receipt requested, to
the owners of the properties. Attached hereto as and incorporated herein by this reference
are true and correct copies of the Assessment Lists for securing and maintaining against
entry dangerous buildings and notice of filing report.
4. The foregoing matters are within my personal knowledge and if called as a
witness herein, I could and would competently testify thereto.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Building Director of the City of Bakersfield
has filed with the City Clerk of said City a report and assessment list on abatement of
nuisances (dangerous buildings) within said City, a copy of which is posted on the bulletin
board near the Council Chambers in City Hall.
Your property is assessed therein in the sum of $1,435.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on May 3, 1995, at the hour of 7:00 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of City Hall said report and assessment list will be presented to the
City Council of said City for consideration and confirmation, and any and all persons
interested, having any objections to said report and assessment list, or to any other matter
or thing relating thereto, may appear at said time and place and be heard.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that you may pay said assessment, along with all
accrued administrative service charges and interest, at the office of the Finance Director of
the City of Bakersfield at City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, at any
time before 5:00 p.m., June 30, 1995, and if not paid within that time it will be entered
against your property on the City tax roll.
