REGARDING A MAYOR PRO TEM.
WHEREAS, past practice of the City Council has been to
appoint the past vice-Mayor to act in place of the Mayor and Vice-
Mayor when both are absent; and
WHEREAS, the Council now desires to adopt this practice
as an official Council policy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
In the absence of both the Mayor and the Vice-
Mayor, the councilmember who most recently served as
vice-Mayor shall be the Mayor Pro Tem, and shall serve in
the place of the Mayor and vice-Mayor.
