HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/05/89 MINUTES RABakersfield, California, September 5, 1989 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Central District Development Agency of the City of Bakersfield, California, held in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1501Truxtun Avenue, at 3:00 p.m., September 5, 1989. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Dunn. City Clerk Williams called the roll as follows: Present: Agency Members Dunn, Kronenberg, Rubin, Watson, Araujo, Killmer (seated at 3:05 p.m.) Absent: Agency Member Paynter CONSENT CALENDAR The following items were listed on the Consent Calendar: a. Approval of Warrant Nos. 034 to 051 }nclusive, in the amount of $52,972.52. b. Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 21, 1989, for approval. Contract Change Order No. 17 - Contract No. RA88-4 with Colombo Construction for Civic Auditorium Expansion and Remodel. Upon a motion by Agency Member Watson, Items a, b and of the Consent Calendar were adopted by the following roll call vote: Ayes: Agency Members Araujo, Watson Noes: None Abstain: None Absent: Agency Member Paynter Dunn, Killmer, Kronenberg, Rubin, REPORTS Agency Member Kronenberg, Chairperson of the Design Review Committee, read Report No. 89-30 regarding an application by Banducci Enterprises for landscaping plan, materials and colors, and awning modification to buildings located at 17th and "K" Streets as follows: On August 28, 1989, the Design Review Committee reviewed the application by Banducci Enterprises for landscaping plan, materials and colors and awning modification to their buildings located at 17th and "K" Streets. The application was approved as submitted. Specifically, the landscaping will include 8 tulip trees (36-inch box minimum) installed in tree wells with metal grates, and new sidewalks with brick pavers on "K" and "L" Streets. The buildings' entire exterior will be plaster coated in La Habra Stucco "Oatmeal", and the awnings in Calliope Awning Fabric - "Ivory", trimmed in Fire Resistant Awning Fabric "Crimson Red", and the garage grill work will be painted in a matching crimson color. 4O Bakersfield, California, September 5, 1989 - Page 2 The Committee recommends that the Agency also approve this application. Upon a motion by Agency Member Kronenberg, Design Review Committee Report No. 89-30 was accepted. Agency Member Araujo Plan Review for the corner of staff research this issue. stated that there may exist a Site 17th and K Streets and asked that Upon a motion by Agency Member Kronenberg, the recommen- dations of Design Review Committee Report No. 89-30 were imple- mented as amended to include "the new plan meets criteria and supersedes all previous actions taken by the Central District Development Agency." AGENCY STATEMENTS Chairperson Dunn stated if any of the Agency Members had any question regarding the 1988-89 Annual Report to contact City Clerk Williams so it can be placed on the next CDDA Agenda. Agency Member Kronenberg will provide a copy of AB 2080 to Agency Member Rubin for review. Economic Development Director Wager stated that an invi- tation was extended to approximately 75 housing developers to attend the Housing Opportunities meeting on Friday, September 8, 1989. Eight housing developers have accepted the invitation to meet for a round-table discussion with the Housing Committee. This meeting is not open to the public. Agency Member Araujo asked staff to provide a report on the condition of the Tegler Hotel within 30 days, and to review the condition of the Banducci building on 18th and "K" Streets.
