RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN
EQUIPMENT CAN ONLY BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
FROM ONE VENDOR AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR,
NOT TO EXCEED $50,000.00. (ONE REPLACEMENT
PATROL UNIT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Fire Department ~s in need of one
fire patrol vehicle for the new Rio Bravo Fire Station; and
WHEREAS, staffing of the fire station creates an urgency for the acquisition
of the fire patrol vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the unique characteristics of the fire patrol unit make it
impractical for normal bidding procedures; and
WItEREAS, the Finance Director has determined, and has recommended that
this Council find, that the purchasing of a cab and chassis can only be reasonably obtained
from one vendor because of the necessity to accelerate and successfully complete the
purchase and assembling of the fire patrol unit for the Bakersfield Fire Department within
the next sixty (60) days, and has recommended that this Council authorize dispensing with
bidding therefor in accordance with Section 3.20.060 D of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The Council hereby finds that the purchase of a fire patrol unit for the
Bakersfield Fire Department can only be reasonably obtained from one vendor because of
the necessity to successfully integrate such equipment into an existing City system, within
the next sixty (60) days, and authorizes the Finance Director to dispense with bidding
therefor and to negotiate the purchase of same, not to exceed $50,000.00.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
