RESOLUTION DETERMINING THAT CERTAIN
EQUIPMENT CAN ONLY BE REASONABLY OBTAINED
FROM ONE VENDOR AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO DISPENSE WITH BIDDING THEREFOR,
NOT TO EXCEED $75,000.00. (ONE REPLACEMENT
ZAMBONI ICE RESURFACING MACHINE FOR THE
CONVENTION CENTER)
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield Convention Center is in need of one (1)
replacement Zamboni ice resurfacing machine for the Convention Center's use; and
WHEREAS, the restricted availability of the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine
make it impractical for formal bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has determined, and has recommended that
this Council find, that the purchasing of a Zamboni ice resurfacing machine can only be
reasonably obtained from one vendor because of the restricted availability of this piece of
equipment, and has recommended that this Council authorize dispensing with bidding
therefor in accordance with Section 3.20.060 D of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The Council hereby finds that the purchase of a Zamboni ice resurfacing
machine for the City of Bakersfield Convention Center can only be reasonably obtained
from one vendor because of the restricted availability of the equipment, and authorizes the
Finance Director to dispense with bidding therefor and to negotiate the purchase of same,
not to exceed $75,000.00.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
