MINUTES
BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Special Meeting June 10, 1976
A Special Meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was called to order by
Chairman Vincent Casper on June 10, 1976, 4 p.m., in the City Council Chamber.
The secretary called the roll as follows:

Ralph H. Poehner
STAFF: Dick Foster, Deputy Executive Director
ITEM 1:
Appraisal Block 285 - Mr. Foster discussed a proposed development, and
requested Agency approval to obtain appraisals per his memo to the
Agency dated June 10, 1976.
Following discussion, on motion by Dr. Puder, seconded by Mr. Stewart,
and carried, the Agency authorized staff to obtain the necessary
appraisals, not to exceed an amount of $1,950.
ITEM 2:
Request for $135,000 Loan - Mr. Foster explained that the Agency had
30 days in which to make an offer to H.U.D. for the purchase of the old
Elks Club Building site; the price would increase after July First,
when the Agency would have to bid in the competitive market. Mr. Foster
said the site would be used for parking to support a proposed develop-
ment, which hinges on this acquisition.
Following discussion, on motion by Mr. Pettit, seconded by Dr. Puder,
and carried, the Agency authorized the Agency Chairman to proceed with
a request for a -oan of $135,000 from the City Council to purchase,
demolish and surface the old Elks Club Building site.
ITEM 3:
Agenda Items for Regular Agency Meeting June 22nd - Chairman Casper
called for items to be placed on the Agenda for the Agency's June 22nd
Regular Meeting, and the following were submitted:
a) One-day Seminar, June 24th, City of Burbank, regarding "Goodwill
Valuation Under New Eminent Domain Law."
b) Voucher Committee.
c) Downtown Design Standards.
d) Status Reports from Developers.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before~t~ne Bakersfield Redevelop-
ment Agency, the meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m. ~--~
