HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 131-95RESOLUTION NO. 131-95 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR FOR DEMOLITION AND/OR REMOVAL OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has adopted Resolution No. 73-95 confirming the reports of the Building Director regarding assessments of certain properties in the City of Bakersfield (attached hereto as Exhibit "A") for securing and maintaining dangerous buildings against entry; and WHEREAS, Municipal Code Chapter 8.80 requires that in the event such charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as listed in Exhibit "A" are not paid in full by June 30, 1995, the Assistant Finance Director shall cause the amount of said assessments remaining unpaid against the property to be entered and extended on the property tax roll, and pursuant to law, the County Tax Collector shall include them on the tax bill applicable to the property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield: 1. The above recitals are found to be true and correct. 2. The charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as listed in Exhibit "A" have not been paid as of June 30, 1995. 3. The Tax Collector of the County of Kern, and such other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized to place the above mentioned assessments on the 1995-96 secured roll of the County and collect such assessments in the same manner as ad valorem property taxes. 4. The City Clerk shall transmit said assessments to the Assistant Finance Director with instructions to submit same to the Kern County Auditor-Controller and Tax Collector. .......... o0o .......... !
