RESOLUTION DEDICATING THE
SOCCER/RUGBY FIELD AT BEACH PARKAS
A HENORIAL TO RAY TRICHELL
WHEREAS, a soccer/rugby field in Beach Park within the Kern
River Parkway has been constructed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to dedicate the soccer/rugby
field in honor and in memory of Ray Trichell; and
WHEREAS, the dedication of the soccer/rugby field at Beach
Park in memory of Ray Trichell is within the parameters of
Resolution No. 14-95 which establishes policies for signs located
within the Kern River Parkway; and
WHEREAS, Ray Trichell was instrumental in promoting and
developing equestrian trails throughout the Kern River Parkway; and
WHEREAS, Ray Trichell was responsible
programs throughout the community to support
and
for organizing new
local organizations;
WHEREAS, Ray Trichell was a generous leader, known for
donating to many civic interests, such as softball, rugby, and golf
tournaments, marathon runs, Black and Hispanic civic groups, the
Chamber of Commerce and Convention Center to name just a few; and
WHEREAS, the late Ray Trichell was a great community servant
who will be missed among us; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to honor the memory of Ray
Trichell by dedicating the soccer/rugby field at Beach Park in his
name.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
1. The soccer/rugby field at Beach Park Rugby is hereby
dedicated as a memorial to Ray Trichell; and
2. The Kern County Athletic Association may erect a memorial
plaque in honor of Ray Trichell at the Beach Park soccer/rugby
field under the supervision and guidelines established by the City
of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
