A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ALLOWING THE EXCHANGE OF
FIREARMS WITH A REGISTERED CLASS 3 DEALER
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department owns three Uzi
9-millimeter submachine guns acquired in 1977 from another police
department; and
WHEREAS, James F. Wright, a registered Class 3 firearms
dealer, owns two 10-millimeter H&K submachine guns; and
WHEREAS, proof that Mr. Wright is a registered Class 3
firearms dealer has been presented to the Chief of the
Bakersfield Police Department and has been authenticated through
the Chief of Police; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wright is willing to exchange the two
10-millimeter H&K submachine guns for the three Uzi 9-millimeter
submachine guns; and
WHEREAS, the value of the three Uzi submachine guns is
$1,950.00 and the value of the two H&K submachine guns is
$2,140.00; and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Police Department desires to
effectuate such an exchange,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Bakersfield Police Department, through its
Chief of Police, is authorized to exchange three Uzi 9-millimeter
submachine guns for two H&K 10-millimeter submachine guns owned
by James F. Wright, a registered Class 3 firearms dealer.
2. The Chief of Police is authorized to sign all documents
required to complete the legal transfer of these weapons and
otherwise effectuate the transaction.
