A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD IN SUPPORT OF
THE KERN COUNTY AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to support and use the Kern County
Airport; and
WHEREAS, supporting the Kern County Airport will enhance the community's
economic vitality; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield wishes to promote the Kern County Airport as
a gateway to and from Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the use of the Kern County Airport will ultimately save time and
transportation costs associated with using larger airports located many hours away; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has adopted a policy of booking local airline
flights out of Bakersfield whenever possible for all business travel of the City Council and
staff,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
resolves to encourage Bakersfield businesses to adopt a similar practice of using the Kern
County Airport facilities whenever possible for business travel.
