A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST BY MARTIN-
MCINTOSH TO REPLACE THE EXISTING CORNER ENTRY
MONUMENTATION WITH A NEW DESIGN AND USE THE NEW
DESIGN FOR FUTURE CORNER MONUMENTATIONS IN THE
SILVER CREEK DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the Silver Creek development is generally located between Gosford Road
and Ashe Road, north of Panama Lane; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN-MCINTOSH, representing Castle and Cooke Development, Inc.
made a written request to the Council to allow use of a new design for existing and new corner
entry monumentation within the Silver Creek development; and
WHEREAS, the request consists of replacing the existing blue tile, river rock and
landscaping with white stucco, brick accents, planter or low profile ornamental wall and
landscaping, at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was advertised in a local newspaper of general circulation,
and notices sent to property owners within said development at least ten days prior to the
hearing date; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on this matter was conducted on June 15, 1994, by the City
Council in the Council Chambers; and
WHEREAS, no one spoke in favor or against the proposal; and
WHEREAS, the proposed project is categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to
Section 15304(b).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
1. The above recitals and findings, incorporated herein, are true and correct.
2. The request to replace the existing corner enUy monumentation with the new
stucco and brick accents with planter or ornamental wall, and to use the new design for future
monumentation within the Silver Creek development as shown on plans on file with the
Planning Director is hereby approved subject to the following conditions:
The project shall be done at no cost to the City or existing Silver Creek
residents Applicant/developer shall pay all costs, including, but not limited
to, plan check, inspection and permit fees and administrative costs.
All construction shall be to City standards as approved by the City
Engineer and/or Parks Superintendent.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by
the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on
