A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 155-99
REGARDING SETTING PRIORITIES FOR FILING WRITTEN
ARGUMENTS AND REBUTTALS REGARDING CITY
MEASURES FOR THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO
BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 2000.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield is submitting to the
voters the question relating to Palm and Olive Annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 155-99 at the Council
meeting held October 20, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor requests to amend Section 9, to allow for up to four
(4) Councilmembers to join him in signing the City's argument;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 9. That the City Council of the City of Bakersfield authorizes
Mayor Bob Price and a maximum of four (4) members of its body to file written arguments
regarding the City Measures as specified in Resolution 155-99, in accordance with Article
4, Chapter 3, Division 9 of the California Elections Code, and to change the arguments up
to, until, and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which, no arguments for or
against the City Measures may be submitted.
