A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THE COUNCIL'S Ii~TMION
TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION UPON TME VACANCY OF
WARD 6
WHEREAS, Councilmember Kevin McDermott, of Ward 6, was
duly elected to the position of City Councilmember on November 8,
1994; and
WHEREAS, upon his resignation, the Council seat in Ward
6 will be vacant; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Council that the City
will be best served by conducting a special election to fill the
vacancy in Ward 6.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL¥~.,~by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that upon the resignation of Councilmember Kevin
McDermott, Ward 6, the Council will call for a Special Election to
fill the vacancy in Ward 6.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
