RESOLUTION APPOINTING ATTORNEY
AND AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WITH BURKE, WILLIAMS & SORENSEN
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 93-2
(STINE-HARRIS)
IT IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL (the "Council") OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD as follows:
WHEREAS, the Council has determined to undertake
proceedings pursuant to special assessment and assessment bond acts
for the construction, acquisition and financing of a public
improvement project in this city; and
WHEREAS, in connection therewith, the Council intends to
approve issuance of improvement bonds pursuant to the Improvement
Bond Act of 1915; and
WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be
served by appointing and employing an attorney for the preparation
and conducting of such special assessment and assessment bond
proceedings and work in connection with such public improvement
project;
THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL FINDS, DETERMINES AND ORDERS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The agreement presented herewith and employing
BURKE, WILLIAMS & SORENSEN, attorneys at law, is approved, which
agreement includes, inter alia, legal services required in the
conduct of special assessment and assessment bond proceedings for
City of Bakersfield Assessment District No. 93-2 (Stine-Harris)
("A.D. 93-2"), including the preparation of all papers not required
to be prepared by the engineer for A.D. 93-2 or others, examining
and approving the engineering documents, and advising all City
officials on matters relating to A.D. 93-2 when called upon. The
compensation for such services shall be fixed at the amount set
forth in the agreement. The official(s) of the City designated on
the agreement are authorized and directed to execute the agreement
on behalf of this city.
