A RESOLUTIONAPPROVINGTHE
DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN OBSOLETE CITY
RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, INSTRUMENTS,
BOOKS AND PAPERS PURSUANT TO SECTION
34090 ET SEQ. OF THE ~ CODE
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA (FIRE
DEPARTMENT).
WHEREAS, Section 34090 et seq. of the California
Government Code authorizes the destruction of city records,
documents, instruments, books and papers after they are no
required; and
longer
WHEREAS, a request has been made by the Fire Department
for authority to destroy obsolete in-house records at least three
years old pertaining to former employees of the Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL¥~D by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield that approval is hereby granted for the
destruction of in-house records pertaining to former employees of
the Fire Department after they become three (3) years old,
provided such files are not subject to any court discovery order,
and subject to approval of the City Attorney.
