A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF
ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX
COLLECTOR FOR ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has
adopted Resolutions No. 131-92, 196-92, 207-92, 2-93 and 3-93
confirming the reports of the Chief of the Fire Department
regarding assessments of certain properties in the City of
Bakersfield (attached hereto as Exhibit "A") for abatement of
public nuisances; and
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Chapter 8.80 requires that in
the event such charges assessed and confirmed against the
properties as listed in Exhibits "A" are not paid in full by
June 30, 1993, the Assistant Finance Director shall cause the
amount of said assessments remaining unpaid against the
property to be entered and extended on the property tax roll,
and pursuant to law, the County Tax collector shall include the
tax bill applicable to the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield:

correct.

other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized
to place the above-mentioned assessments on the secured roll of
the County and collect such assessments in the same manner as
ad valorem property taxes.
4. The City Clerk shall transmit said assessments to
the Assistant Finance Director with instructions to submit same
to the Kern County Auditor-Controller and Tax Collector.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was

I, Gilbert Rojas, declare:
1. I am the duly appointed Assistant Finance Director of the
City of Bakersfield, California. I am making this declaration
pursuant to Chapter 8.80 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code.
2. Pursuant to Resolutions No. 131-92, 196-92, 207-92, 2-93
and 3-93 passed and adopted by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, the assessments for certain properties in the City of
Bakersfield attached hereto as Exhibits "A" for abatement of public
nuisances have been confirmed.
3. The charges assessed and confirmed against the properties
as listed in Exhibits "A" have not been paid as of June 30, 1993.
4. The foregoing matters are within my personal knowledge
and, if called as a witness herein, I could and would competently
testify thereto.
5. I declare, under penalty of perjury, under the laws of
the State of California, that the foregoing is true and correct.
