RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO
THE KERN COUNTYWIDE SITING ELEMENT
WHEREAS, the Robinson-Grogg Partnership, the American Tire Tech private
landfill, and the McKitrick Waste Treatment Site have all applied to the County of Kern for
an amendment to the Kern Countywide Siting Element; and
WHEREAS, the Kern County Waste Management Department has prepared reports
concerning all three applications and the reports all conclude that the facilities are in
conformance with the Kern Countywide Siting Element; and
WHEREAS, the Kern County Waste Management Department has used negative
declarations for the General Plan Amendment and Conditional Use Permits for the
applications and has determined no additional environmental document is necessary; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk for the City of Bakersfield has caused notice to be duly
given of a public hearing on these matters in accordance with the law, as evidenced by the
affidavit of publication and the affidavit of mailing on file with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, all persons desiring to be heard in these matters have been duly heard,
and the City Council having considered the testimony presented during said public hearing,
all documents presented during said public hearing and the report and recommendations
of the Kern County Waste Management Department having also been considered,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by reference.
2. The City Council has no objections to the proposed amendments to the Kern
Countywide Siting Element concerning the aforesaid applications.
3. The City Clerk shall cause copies of this resolution to be sent to the following:

Director, Kern County Waste Management Department
Director, Environmental Health Services Department for the County
of Kern
County Counsel for the County of Kern
