A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THE COUNCILdS INTENTION
TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION UPON THE VACANCY OF
THE COUNCIL IN WARD 5.
WHEREAS, Councilmember Ken Peterson, of Ward 5, was duly
elected to the position of Kern County Supervisor on November 3,
1992; and
WHEREAS, upon his resignation, the Council seat in Ward
5 will be vacant; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Council that the City
will be best served by conducting a special election to fill the
vacancy in Ward 5.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that upon the resignation of Councilmember Ken
Peterson, Ward 5, the Council will call for a Special Election to
fill the vacancy in Ward 5.
