A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE HOUSING ELEMENT OF
THE 2010 GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS, the draft Housing Element of the 2010 General Plan was reviewed by
the Planning Commission on June 20, 1991 and recommended for adoption; and
WHEREAS, the draft Housing Element was submitted to the state for review
following the public hearing before the Planning Commission after which the state
responded in a letter dated August 9, 1991 recommending certain revisions to comply
with state law; and
WHEREAS, the draft Housing Element was revised based on the state's findings
and resubmitted with changes made in response to the August 9, 1991 review letter
following which the state responded with a second letter recommending the inclusion of
additional analysis and data to more fully comply with the provisions of state law; and
WHEREAS, the draft Housing Element has been revised to comply with the
findings contained in the state's review letters and was presented to the City Council on
September 30, 1992 for adoption; and
WHEREAS, the draft Housing Element has been revised to include changes
recommended by the state, and as revised, complies with the provisions of state law for
the following reasons:
The Housing Element contains an assessment and analysis of the
specific items contained in Section 65583 of the Government Code
based on available data and local conditions.
The Housing Element contains a statement of goals, policies,
quantified objectives and programs for the preservation,
improvement and development of housing based on available
resources and the community's ability to satisfy identified housing
needs.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct and made part of this
resolution.
2. The Housing Element of the 2010 General Plan is hereby adopted.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by
the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on $epte~er
