HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 143-92RESOLUTION NO. 143-92 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR FOR ABATEMENT OF PUBLIC NUISANCES WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has adopted Resolutions No. 235-91, 209-91, 178-91 and 22-92, confirming the reports of the Chief of the Fire Department and the Building Director regarding assessments of certain properties in the City of Bakersfield (attached hereto as Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "D") for abatement of public nuisances; and WHEREAS, Municipal Code Chapter 8.80 requires that in the event such charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as listed in Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "D" are not paid in full by June 30, 1992, the City Finance Director shall cause the amount of said assessments remaining unpaid against the property to be entered and extended on the property tax roll, and pursuant to law, the County Tax collector shall include the tax bill applicable to the property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Bakersfield: 1. The above recitals are found to be true and correct. 2. The charges assessed and confirmed against the properties as listed in Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "D" have not been paid as of June 30, 1992. 3. The Tax Collector of the County of Kern, and such other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized to place the above-mentioned assessments on the secured roll of the County and collect such assessments in the same manner as ad valorem property taxes. 4. The City Clerk shall transmit said assessments to the Director of Finance with instructions to submit same to the Kern County Auditor-Controller and Tax Collector. .......... o0o ..........
