A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THE RESULTS OF CANVASS
OF RETURNS OF THE NOMINATING MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR AND SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR A CHARTER AMENDMENT,
MEASURE "G", AT THE STATE DIRECT PRIMARY
ELECTION HELD ON THE 2ND DAY OF JUNE, 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council does hereby find, determine and
declare as follows:
a. Pursuant to applicable law, a Special Municipal
Election was held and conducted in said City on the 2nd day of
June, 1992; and
b. Said election was held and conducted in conformity
with all applicable provisions of law; and
c. Said Special Municipal Election was held for the
purpose of submitting to the voters of said City the following
proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of Bakersfield:
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD MEASURE "G"
Should Sections (185) 3., (186) 4., (199) 17.,
(202) 20., (211) 4., (216) 9., (217) 10(b)., (217b)
10b., (231) 11., (232) 12., and (233) 13. of the
Charter of the City of Bakersfield be amended relat-
ing to suspensions and removals of fire, miscellane-
ous and police civil service employees?
d. Pursuant to direction of the City Council, the County
Clerk of the County of Kern has heretofore conducted a canvass of
the results thereof and has filed with said City Council a
certificate relating thereto which has been examined and is hereby
accepted by this City Council; and
e. The Statement of Election Results relating to said
Special Election is attached hereto as Exhibit "A", and by this
reference incorporated herein.
SECTION 2.
The City Council does hereby find, determine, and declare
as follows:

a. Pursuant to applicable law, a Nominating Municipal
Election was held and conducted in said city on the 2nd day of
June, 1992 for the purpose of electing a Mayor; and
b. Said election was held and conducted in conformity
with all applicable provisions of law; and
c. Pursuant to direction of the City Council, the County
Clerk of the County of Kern has heretofore conducted a canvass of
the results thereof and has filed with said city Council a
certificate relating thereto which has been examined and is hereby
accepted by this City Council; and
d. The City Council does hereby accept the canvass of
record of said elections as certified by said County Clerk and does
hereby resolve, determine and declare the results of said
Nominating Election as follows:

e. That the following persons have been nominated, and
are hereby determined to be, Candidates for the Office of Mayor at
the general Election to be held on November 3, 1992:
Robert Price
Ethel Landers
f. The City Council does hereby accept the canvass of
record of said Special Municipal Election as certified by said
County Clerk and does hereby declare that 17,257 votes
were cast in favor of the adoption of said amendment and 14,691
votes were cast against adoption of said amendment and that said
amendment is hereby declared to have carried, passed and been
adopted.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter the results of
this election in the minutes of this city Council.
SECTION 4.
That the City Clerk shall certify the adoption of
resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the city of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting theeof held on JON 24 1992 , by
