RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO ANNEXATION INTO
COUNTY SERVICE AREA NUMBERS 12.1, 12.2, 12.3
AND 12.10 FOR PROVIDING SCHOOL CROSSING
GUARDS.
WHEREAS, the County of Kern has established County
Service Areas (pursuant to Division 3 of Title 5 of the Government
Code of the State of California) for the provision of providing
school crossing guards within the boundaries of County Service
Areas 12.1, 12.2, 12.3 and 12.10 in the County of Kern; and
WHEREAS, certain property that will benefit from the
school crossing guards is located in the incorporated areas of the
City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that prior to including
incorporated territory within such a County Service Area, the
County of Kern must receive the consent of this City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
The Council hereby grants its consent to the
annexation into County Service Areas 12.1, 12.2,
12.3 and 12.10 of certain incorporated areas of the
City of Bakersfield for the provision of providing
school crossing guards.
That the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield
shall forward copies of this resolution to the
following:

RESOLUTION
SECTION I. WHEREAS:
(a) On September 15, 1992, at the request of the City of Bakersfield, this Board adopted
Resolution No. 92-545 making application to the Local Agency Formation Commission to annex territory
within the City limits of Bakersfield to County Service Area No. 12.2 to provide school crossing guards;
and
Co) It has been recommended by the County Administrative Office that required
negotiations with the City of Bakersfield be completed before proceeding with the proposed annexation; and
(c) The adoption of said Resolution No. 92-545 was therefore premature.
SECTION 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Kern, State of California as follows:
1. Resolution No. 92-545 adopted by this Board of Supervisors on September 15, 1992, entitled
"Resolution of Application to LAFCO Annexation No. 2 to County Service Area No. 12.2" is hereby
rescinded.

2. The Director of the Waste Management Department is authorized and directed to withdraw
the application submitted to LAFCO regarding this proposed annexation.
3. The Clerk of this Board shall forward copies of this Resolution to the following:
(a) Waste Management Department (1 certified)
(b) Local Agency Formation Commission (1 certified)
(c) County Counsel
(d) City of Bakersfield
