A RESOLUTION CALLING THE NOMINATING
MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR
AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
THE COUNTY OF KERN TO ORDER THE CONSOLIDATION
OF SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,
JUNE 2, 1992.
W~EREAS, the California Direct Primary Election will be
held on June 2, 1992; and
W~ER~AS, Section 67.1(a) of the Charter of the City of
Bakersfield prescribes that a Nominating Municipal Election for
election of Mayor shall be held concurrently with the State of
California Direct Primary Election to be held June 2, 1992; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. The Nominating Municipal Election for the office
Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four years
is hereby called and ordered consolidated with the State of
California Direct Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, June 2,
1992.
2. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern is
hereby requested to make an order directing the County Clerk to
consolidate and conduct the Nominating Municipal Election for the
office of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield with the State of
California Direct Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, June 2,
1992.
3. The County Clerk is hereby authorized and requested
to canvass the returns of said Nominating Municipal Election and
to certify such canvass of the votes so cast, to the City
Council.
4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
certify the adoption of this resolution, transmit and file a copy
thereof to the County Clerk and to the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Kern.
5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
give all Notices and perform all advertising as required by law
and perform or cause to be performed all the duties and functions
required by law.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting theeof held on JAN 1 5 1~2 , by
the following vote:
