HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 233-91RESOLUTION NO.~l_~ 9~ A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 50-91 SETTING SALARIES AND RELATED BENEFITS FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE GENERAL SUPERVISORY, POLICE SUPERVISORY AND MANAGE- MENT UNITS. WHEREAS, Resolution No. 50-91 sets salaries and related benefits for officers and employees of the General Supervisory, Police Supervisory and Management Units, the City desires to make amendment thereof. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that Section 11 of the Resolution setting salaries and related benefits for the General Supervisory, Police Supervisory and Management Units is amended to read as follows: SECTION 11. Desianated Holiday, - General and Police Supervisory Units and Manaqement Unit C. Holidav Work. When such employee is required to work on a holiday, the eligible employee shall be credited for the holiday once at the straight time rate and shall be credited once again for the actual time worked as overtime at the employee's applicable overtime rate. General Supervisory Unit employees working on a holiday designated in Subsection A. shall be credited for overtime at the time and one-half. D. Holidays on Day Off. When a holiday falls on an employee's scheduled day off, the eligible employee shall be credited for the holiday as overtime at the straight time rate. E. Desiqnated Holidays and Manner of Payment for Holiday Work on Shift Basis - Police Supervisory and Manaaement. All eligible employees in the Police Supervisory and Management Unit working on a shift basis, except those employees who are absent without pay one-half day or more immediately before and/or after a designated holiday, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times their regular hourly rate of pay for the holidays listed in Subsection A. except that in lieu of a floating holiday and one- half days on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve they will be credited for Columbus Day and Easter Sunday. One payment for all such designated holidays shall be made on or before June 17. All other eligible Police Supervisory and Police Management employees who do not work a shift basis shall observe holidays in accordance with Subsection A. of this section. F. Holidays at Termination - Police. An employee leaving permanent City service shall be allowed regular compensation for holidays worked up to the effective date of termination. G. Holidays - Fire Department Employees Assigned to 24-Hour Duty Shifts. Fire Management Employees assigned on a 24-hour duty shift basis shall accrue holiday pay at the rate of six (6½) shifts per year to be paid on a pro rata basis as follows: three (3) on December 1, and three and one-half (3~) on June 30.
