HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 139-91RESOLUTION NO. ~ 3 9 ' 9 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING COLLECTION OF ASSESSMENTS BY THE KERN COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR FOR DEMOLITION AND/OR REMOVAL OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS AND/OR STRUCTURES WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield has adopted Resolution No. 20-91, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", confirming the Report of the Building Director regarding assessments of certain properties in the City of Bakersfield for demolition of dangerous buildings; and WHEREAS, Section 909 of the Uniform Code for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition, requires that after confirmation of the report, certified copies of the assessment shall be given to the Auditor-Controller and the Tax Collector, who shall add the amount of the assessment to the next regular tax bill levied against the parcel for municipal purposes. correct. 1. The Tax Collector of the County of Kern, and such other County officers as may be required, are hereby authorized to place the above-mentioned assessments on the secured roll of the County and collect such assessments in the same manner as ad valorem property taxes, with the exception of the following assessment, which has been paid: a.
