A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE
TO SUBMIT GRANT PROPOSAL TO BOARD OF
CORRECTIONS ON BEHALF OF PAL.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to undertake a certain project
designated as the Bakersfield PAL Impact Program to be funded in part from funds
made available through the Title V Program administered by the Board of Corrections
(hereinafter "BOC").
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield as follows:
The foregoing recital is true and correct and incorporated herein by
reference.
The Chief of the Bakersfield Police Department for the City of Bakersfield
is authorized, on behalf of the City of Bakersfield, to submit the attached
proposal to BOC and is authorized to sign and approve on behalf of the
Bakersfield City Council the attached grant award agreement including
any extensions or amendments thereof for a period of nine (9) months
beginning on October 1,2003 through June 30, 2004.
The applicant agrees to provide all matching funds required for said
project (including all amendments thereto) under the program and the
funding terms and conditions of BOC and that the match will be
appropriated as required,
Any liability arising out of the performance of this grant award agreement,
including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility of the
grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and
BOC disclaims all responsibility for any such liability.
Grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant
expenditures controlled by the Bakersfield City Council.
