Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, California, for the purpose of meeting with
the All-America City Delegation from South Gate, held at the
Sheraton Valley Inn, 5101 California Avenue, at 5:00 p.m., August
20, 1991.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Medders.
Present: Councilmembers DeMond, Brunni, Peterson, McDermott
Absent: Councilmembers Edwards, Smith, Salvaggio
Presentation was made by the All-America City
Delegation from the City of South Gate regarding the projects
South Gate submitted to receive the 1990 All-America City
Designation, by the following speakers:
Mayor and Councilmember Greg Slaughter;
Councilmembers Bob Phillipp and Larry
Leonard;
city Manager Todd Argow;
Police Chief Ron George;
Director of Community Development
Andrew Pasmant;
Public Information Manager Maureen
O'Connor;
citizen Alvaro Cristales; and
Citizen Darlene Echeverria.
