Prior to removal of the tank we. will bore a vertical hole as close to the building as possible adjacent to the tank. This hole will go to a depth of 30 feet below grade. Samples will be taken at 20', 25', and 30' depths. After' the tank is removed we will also obtain samples at 2' and 6' below the base of the tank, 1/3 of the way in from each end. All samples will be analyzed for BTEX, TPH and EPA method 8010. No work will be commenced until our permit is issued and we obtain a permit from the City of Bakersfield Fire Department. We will advise you of the starting date. If any additional information is required do not hesitate to call. After inspecting the locations of these tanks,.it is my opinion that the removal of these tanks would, probably, cause severe structural damage to the building located at this address. These tanks would still have to be properly abandoned in place as required by Sec. 79.113(c) of the Uniform Fire Code. Sincerely, J.R.
