A RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS THAT NO
WRITTEN PROTEST HAS BEEN FILED AND
ORDERING THE TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS
PROCEEDING NO. 1057, ANNEXATION NO. 340,
HOSKING NO. 1, ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD (WARD 7).
WHEREAS, Resolution of Application No. 168-90, dated
December 19, 1990, was submitted to the Local Agency Formation
Commission of Kern County ("Commission") for the annexation of
territory to the City of Bakersfield designated as Proceeding No.
1057, Annexation No. 340 (Hosking No. 1); and
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing upon said pro-
posal was held before the Commission on the May 28, 1991; and
WHEREAS, following said public hearing the Commission,
on May 28, 1991, adopted its Resolution Making Determination,
being Resolution No. 91-21, recorded in Minute Book 38 of said
Commission; and
WHEREAS, on June 4, 1991, the City Clerk of the City
of Bakersfield set WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 1991, at the hour of 7:00
P.M. (or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard) in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield,
California, as the time, date and place of hearing on the proposed
annexation and the owners of land within the said territory were
duly informed of their right to file written protests against the
annexation with the City Clerk at any time prior to the conclusion
of the hearing on the proposed annexation; and
WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexation
of certain unincorporated territory, designated as HOSKING NO. 1 to
the City of Bakersfield; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. In accordance with Sections 57075 and 57078 of the
Government Code, it is hereby found that written protests, if any,
filed and not withdrawn prior to the conclusion of the hearing
represent landowners owning less than 50 percent of the assessed
value of the land within the territory to be annexed.
2. The description of the exterior boundaries of the
territory annexed is contained in Exhibit "A" and shown on the map
marked Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated in this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That the said territory designated as Proceeding No.
1057, Annexation No. 340 (Hosking No. 1), and described herein,
and every part thereof, is hereby ordered annexed to the City of
Bakersfield.
4. That the Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified
copy of this resolution ordering a change of organization, along
with any required remittance to cover the fees required by
Section 54902.5 of the Government Code, to the Executive Officer
of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County.
5. That the Executive Officer of the Commission is
hereby requested to prepare and execute a certificate of comple-
tion and make the filings required by Part 4, Chapter 8 of the
Cortese-Knox Local Government Organization Act of 1985 and record
a certified copy of the certification of completion with the
recorder of Kern County, with the surveyor of Kern County and
with the Clerk of the City of Bakersfield.

HOSKING NO. 1
ANNEXATION NO. 340 BOUNDARY
A parcel of land being a portion of Section 31, Township 30 South, Range 28
East and Section 36, Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D. M., County of
Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the East line of the Northwest 1/4
of said Section 31 and the South line of the North 30 feet thereof, as said
section is shown on Parcei Map No. 5750 filed in Book 24 of Parcel Maps, Page
184 in the Office of the Kern County Recorder, said point also being on the
existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (i) South O0° 34' ~6" West along said East line, 1322.09 feet to a
point on the Easterly prolongation of South right of way line of Astor Avenue
(30 ft. wide) as shown on map of Tract No. 1092 filed in Book 4 of maps, Page
147 in the Office of the Kern County Recorder;
TMENCE (2) North 89° 29' 57" West along said South line and prolongation
thereof (South 89a 55' West per said Tract No. 1092) a distance of 690.00 feet
to a point on the West boundary line of said Tract No. 1092;
THENCE (3) South O0a 03' 00" East, along said West llne, i0.00 feet to a point
on the Easterly prolongation of the South right of way line of the 40 foot wide
portion of Astor Avenue;
THENCE (4) South 89° 56' 34" West, along said South right of way line (as shown
on maps of Tract No. 3575 filed in Book 24 of maps, Page 85 and Tract No. 3763
filed in Book 28, Page 71 in the Office of the Kern County Recorder) a distance
of 1630.65 feet to the beginning of a 25.00 foot radius curve concave South-
easterly, as shown on map of said Tract No. 3763;
THENCE (5) Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 29° 35' 31"
an arc distance of 12.91 feet to the beginning of a 90.00 foot radius reversing
curve concave Northeaster[y;
THENCE (6) Westerly along said reversing curve through a central angle of 96° 42'
23" an arc distance of 151.91 feet to a point on the North boundary line of
said Tract No. 3763;
TMENCE (7) South 89° 56' i]4" West, along said North line and Westerly prolonga-
tion thereof, a distance of 297.08 feet to a point on the East llne of the West
30.00 feet of the Northwest 1/4 of said Section 31 also being a point on the
East right of way llne of South "N" Street (County Road No. 25 and 140);
THENCE (8) South O0~ 00' 57" West, along said East line (South O0° 36' 48" West
per said Parcel Map No. 5'750), a distance of 1321.57 feet to point on the South
line of the Northwest 1/4 of said Section 31;
THENCE (9) South, along the East line of the West 30 feet of the Southwest 1/4
of said Section 31, a distance of 30.00 feet to a point on the South line of
North 30 feet of said Southwest 1/4 Section;

longation line, 730.37 feet to an angie point thereon;
THENCE (12) South 60° 52' 04" West, along said right of way line, 226.72 feet to
a point on the East right of way line of State Freeway 99 (State Route Vl-KER-99);
THENCE (13) North 11° 31' 00" West, along said East right of way line, 2793.98
feet to a point on the South right of way line of Hosking Avenue (County Road No.
2357) also being a point on the existing corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield;
