A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY AND FINDING THAT
SUCH SALE IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF
THE CITY (FIRE STATION, 1301 FOURTH
STREET).
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 3.20.125 B. of the Municipal
Code of the City of Bakersfield, the Council may authorize a nego-
tiated sale of real property when it finds that such sale is in
the best interests of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 65402, the
Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield determined that
said proposed sale is consistent with the Bakersfield Metropolitan
Area General Plan; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed sale
of City canal property located at 1301 4th Street; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was duly noticed and held on
WEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 1991, in the Council Chambers of City Hall,
1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That the sale of the City property located at
1301 4th Street, more particularly described on
Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated as
though fully set ~orth, is in the best interests
of the City;
That the benefits to be derived by the City justify
the sale price of $60,200.00; and
That the Mayor is authorized to execute the papers
of conveyance and conclude the sale of real property
pursuant to such other terms and conditions as are
acceptable to City staff.
That a real estate sales commission of six percent
(6%) of the sales price is authorized to be paid
from the proceeds of the sale.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on ~AY 2 2 19§1 ___, by

The North 121.75 feet of tile certain parcel marked "Reserved"
in the Northeast corner of Block A of Chester Park Tract, in
the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California,
as per Map recorded in Book 2, Page 24 of Maps, and being more
particularly described as follows:
Commenclng at the Northeast corner of Lot 18, in Block "A"
as shown on said Map; thence Eost along the South line of Fourth
Street, 132 feet to tile West line of "L" street; thence South
and along the West line of "L" street, 121.75 feet; thence West
and parallel to the South line of Fourth Street, 132 feet to the
East line of said lot 18; thence North along the East line of
Lot 18, 121.75 feet to the point of beginning, excepting the
West 32 feet thereof.
