AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTIONS 1.12.020 AND 1.12.050 RELATING
BOUNDARY CHANGES FOR WARD 2 AND WARD 5.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted Ordinance No. 3915 on July
21, 1999, for the current ward boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the current boundary for the area generally west of Valhalla Drive, between
Ming Avenue and Belle Terrace is located in Ward 2 and Ward 5; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to modify the boundaries of Ward 2 and Ward 5 so
that said area shall be within a single City Council ward boundary; and
WHEREAS, the modification is for the territory, the exterior boundaries of which are as
shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set forth herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
Section 1.
Ail of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be tree and correct.
Section 2.
The area shown in Exhibit "A' is hereby removed from Ward 5 and shall be included in
Section 3.
Section 1.12.020 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and
amended to read as set forth in Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference.
Section 4.
Section 1.12.050 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and
amended to read as set forth in Exhibit "C' attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference.
Section 5.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code and
shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield, but
not less than thirty (30) days fi'om and after the date of its passage.

are the corrected pages for the Ward 2 and Ward 5 boundary descriptions (Exhibit "B",
