AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTION 1.12.040 BY REMOVING THE PALM-OLIVE
ANNEXATION AREA FROM WARD 4.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution for the Palm-
Olive Annexation (Annexation No. 395) on February 25, 1998, ordering the territory annexed to the City
of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2000, an election to remove the area from the City of
Bakersfield was approved by the voters; and
WHEREAS, the results of an election have been certified by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the territory is to be removed from the City of Bakersfield City Council
Ward Boundary No. 4; and
WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of Annexation No. 395 are as shown in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be tree and correct.
Section 2.
The Palm-Olive Annexation (Annexation No. 395) area shall be removed from Ward 4.
Section 3~
Section 1.12.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and
amended to read as set for in Exhibit "B' attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code and
shall become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield, but
not less than thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted by the
Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on

1.12.040 Boundaries of the fourth ward. The boundaries of the
fourth
ward are amended to read as follows:
All that part of the city of Bakersfield beginning at the intersection of the
centerline of Gosford Road and the centerline of Stockdale Highway;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Stockdale Highway to meet the northerly
prolongation of the west line of Section 5, T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M.D.M.;
Thence southerly along the west line of said prolongation line and west line of
said Section 5 to meet the centerline of Camino Media;
Thence easterly along the centerline of Camino Media to the east right-of-way
line of the Arvin-Edison Canal;
Thence southerly along the east right-of-way line of the Arvin-Edison Canal to the
centerline of Ming Avenue;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to the west right-of-way
line of the Arvin-Edison Canal;
Thence southerly along the west right-of-way line of the Arvin-Edison Canal to
meet the south line of Lot 12 of Tract No. 4705;
Thence westerly along the south line of said Lot 12 to the centerline of Summer
Creek Road;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Summer Creek Road to the centerline of
Pin Oak Park Boulevard;
Thence southeasterly along the centerline of Pin Oak Park Boulevard to the
centerline of Park View Drive;
Thence southwesterly along the centerline of Park View Drive to the centerline of
White Lane;
Thence westerly along the centerline of White Lane to meet the east line of
Section 18, T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M.D.M;
Thence southerly along the east line of said section 18 to the centerline of Pacheco
Road;

Vista Road;
Thence southerly along the centerline of Buena Vista Road to meet the south
fight-of-way line of Panama Lane, said point being on the existing city limit line;

the northerly prolongation of the centerline of E1 Rio Drive;
Thence southerly along said prolongation line to a point on the centerline of the
Kern River;
Thence westerly along the centerline of the Kern River to the intersection of the
west line of Section 33, Township 29 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M.;
Thence southerly along the west line of Section 33 to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom the circumvented county area described as follows:
That area at the northwest comer of Brimhall Road and Jewetta Avenue being the
area within the boundary of Parcel Map No. 4244 bounded easterly by the west
line of east 30 feet of Section 25, T. 29 S., R. 26 E., M.D.M. and bounded
southerly by the north line of the south 55 feet of said Section 25.
